PricewaterhouseCoopers Teams Up with Children of the City to Sponsor Fun & Safe Events for Children this Summer!

PricewaterhouseCoopers donated to our kids 95 brand new bikes that their employees assembled on Wednesday, July 22 2009. COC Founder and Executive Director Joyce Mattera brought several students from our Create Success Summer Program to thank employees of PwC. For many of the kids the bicycles made were the first they have ever owned or ridden.

Then on Friday, July 31 2009, employees from PricewaterhouseCoopers gathered at our headquarters to organize and host a Carnival. PwC graciously secured all the supplies, materials, games and prizes for the event. Also in attendance were our partners from New York Cares, and Metro Health Plus who provided health screening services for adults; Radio Disney was also on hand to emcee several games and provide music and entertainment. “We are excited that PwC contacted us about hosting this event, as studies show that children do better in school and home when they have a safe outlet for recreation” shared Joyce Mattera.
