The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world forever. For the average person, it can feel like the world is unraveling. Whether you're dealing with sickness, social distancing, working from home for the first time, have experienced job loss, or are trying to homeschool kids, it isn't easy. However, for these communities where poverty, homelessness, abuse, lack of education, and language barriers are already issues, the situation has become even more dire.

When the stay at home order went into effect, Children of the City immediately began to redirect our programs and services. Through the help of staff and many volunteers, we began to reach out to our program participants to find out how they were doing. We also spoke with local teachers, care providers, and social workers.….

As a result of these unforeseen events, we were compelled to push back our Annual Charity Bowl with the New York Giants to a more suitable time. We look forward to when we can host this wonderful event and once again see you face to face.

Programs

Over the past 38 years Children of the City has conducted over 300,000 home visits, given Holiday meals and gifts to 15,000 families in crisis, and provided lifesaving intervention to dozens of families. In the past 15 years, we have provided intensive academic support to over 4000 children and youth living below the poverty line and at risk for educational failure.
